GA Tech Field Trip

Site Facilities:  Separately, list and briefly summarize all areas/aspects of the sports site you toured.
- Work out area - anybody can access this, whether it is students, alumini, faculty. It is a great space.
- Climbing Wall - This is open every day for a certain amount of time for groups of people.
- Basketball Gyms - 6 of these for anyone to use, can be reserved or any of the tech students can use it.
- Track - Around the top of the Bball courts, 6 laps is a mile. Great space to use for anyone
- Competition Pool - Both diving & a races which is used for a lot of the swimming teams event in the AAC
- Leisure Pool - Has a pool to swim lengths, a slide, and lazy river which can be used by anyone at most times of the day
- Multi Purpose Area’s - Used for different classes such as aerobics, spinning, and martial arts.

Career Possibilities:  What are potential career paths associated with this sports site?  Please list and briefly explain as many as you can identify.

- Interns - Jon mentioned that last year was the first year that tech have offered interns that are paid. The interns can be pretty much be done at any point during the year, these are an average of 20hrs a week over a certain amount of time.

- The Rec centre has only four members of full time staff, they rely pretty much on the students working there to keep the place open but they do have several job openings right now. One of which is the aquatic director.

What are the most significant things you learned from this site visit?  What questions arose from this visit?

From a learning perspective I did not gain that much knowledge from the trip but I did realise how much these bigger schools have compared to our small school. Their Rec facilities are 10x better than what we have at Reinhardt. Also that Tech rely on their students to keep everything running smoothly for them, I think this is great.
